I was born in a small town in southern Arkansas called Camden.
A fun fact about Camden is that we grew up with 4 explosives factories (Austin Powders, General Dynamic, Lockheedmartin, Spectra) down the street from our local college.
So, you know, safety.
I attended the University of Central Arkansas (Go Bears), where I got a Bachelor of Art in Art Education.
I got to work with some incredible artists like world renowned sculptors Bryan Massey and Patrick Dougherty at UCA, and I was trained by the Great Duo that is Dr. Jeff Young and Dr. Deb kuster.
I got the opportunity to give 9.5 years of my life to education.
During that time, I got to inspire creativity in my students, work on projects with the community, and build long-lasting friendships with my awesome co-workers.
In 2020, during the pand-demmy, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
After years of being in and out of the hospital, being told that “all the bloodwork looks fine” or “It may just be stress.” I was finally given an answer.
I tried to persevere through as long as I could, but I had to call it quits at the end of the 2023/2024 school year.
But that will not stop me from doing what I love, that’s teaching!
I want to be an online art facilitator!
I want to build a community that discusses, creates, collaborates, and explores the wonderful world of visual art.
